The Bose wave radio does not turn off when the on/off button is pressed, it just mutes the audio, and so your radio could have been on for 20 plus years. Open it up and check for stains around the electrolytic capacitors, this is a sign of blown or leaky caps. If your old Bose radio is not working, barely working or otherwise.
